“I only went out for a walk, and finally concluded to stay out till sundown, for going out, i found, was really going in…”

John Muir

Whilst supporting my wife at this years Youth Hostel Association (YHA) AGM (at which she was voted in as a trustee) I had a couple of hours to aimlessly wander the streets of London. Loaded with a brand new Fujifilm X-T20 and enough coffee in my system to down a bull elephant, I set off to see what this potentially powerful combination could create.

A friend recently said to me “you’ve been in the Cumbria bubble for too long” … I laughed at first, because in many ways it was very true. I’ve been ‘cut off’ from the city centres and the big smoke and trying to get the most out of a country lifestyle.

I can’t help but feel saddened at the amount of homeless people there are in our cities. It hit me first in London, and more recently in Manchester… Daniel was very happy to receive a coffee from me and very kindly let me take his picture (below) I regret not asking him more questions, fearing I would be ‘prying’ in his personal affairs.

A bit silly now when I come to think about it especially when i look back at his photo.
